Last August 16, 2008, Mayor Nato S. Abrenica flew to California, USA for a 3-day visit just to convince a candidate for Mrs. Villasis 2009 and to represent Villasinians in the USA with the help of. Mr. Manny Manantan, President of Villasinians of Southern California, Mrs. Naty I. Corral, Mr. Rey Abrenica and Mr.Jesus Bascos,he was able to convince Mrs. Thelma Espiritu-Corpus, to be a candidate for Mrs. Villasis 2009, because she believes that joining the contest will give her the chance to help her town and townmates. It will also be a way to express her thanks for all the blessings that God has showered her and her family.

     Mayor Nato's trip was on time for the scheduled annual summer picnic of the Villasinias of Southern California held last August 17, 2008. Shown in the pictures with Mayor Nato are the happy, successful and generous Villasinians of Southern California. They even celebrated the advance birthday of Mayor Nato who is celebrating his 55th birthday in August 30,2008. He has proven that Villasinians in Southern California have always been his partners, together with all Villasinians abroad, in bringing more progress in Villasis.     

    Indeed, the Mayor arrived in Villasis today August 21, 2008 full of gladness and so eager to go back to work and feeling so inspired. It is because he was successful in his mission and very hopeful Villasis will celebrate a more different and more festive Town Fiesta 2009.

       The Provincial Government of Pangasinan has given Villasis fertilizer subsidy in the form of 9,826 discount coupons to be distributed to farmers in the municipality.These discount coupons are like those coupons given by the national government wherein, farmers can avail the P250.00 discount for every bag of fertilizer they buy from accredited agri-supply stores, using one coupon.Each farmer is given 2 discount coupons. Our local agriculture office has already started releasig said coupons as shown in above picture. Mayor Nato is very thankful to Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. for including Villasis as one of the early recipients of the province's fertilizer subsidy program.

         Last Tuesday, July 29, 2008, thousand of people young and old, trooped to Caramutan Elementary School to avail free medical and dental services. Yes, the Municipal Government of Villasis conducted another Medical-Dental Mission for the residents of barangays Caramutan, Lipay, Piaz and San Blas. There were 1,550 beneficiaries (1,100-Medical & 450 Dental) Mayor Nato and Mdm. Dita personally supervised the conduct of said activity. Free medicines were distributed to the beneficiaries.Multi-Vitamins for young and adults, courtesy of Mayor & Mrs. Abrenica, were also distributed.
