LGU-Villasis yearly conducts Nutrition program to ease the increasing number of malnourished school children. Today, July 1, 2008, Mayor Nonato S. Abrenica led the launching of the LGU's Supplemental Feeding Program for four(4) months, July - October 2008. This feeding program is for the below normal children. Aside from this feeding program our municipal nutrition council also conducts seminar on the basic concepts of nutrition for the parents of the beneficiaries. The implementation of the feeding program and the proper information dissemination serve as the foundation of a healthy and strong community.

     Above pictures were taken during the launching of the municipality's Supplemental Feeding Program. Mayor Nato awarded the budget to all school heads for their expenses in feeding below normal school children in their respective schools. In Villasis District I (8 schools) there are 353 beneficiaries, while in District II (14 schools) there are 390 beneficiaries. A total of 743 school children will benefit from this daily feeding program for four months (July-October 2008). To ensure the proper implementation of the municipality's Supplemental Feeding Program, our Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Mrs. Francisca O. Cortez, will conduct weekly monitoring with the help of the other members of the Municipal Nutrition Council.
