To help ease the soaring prices of commodities especially rice, The municipal government of Villasis, in cooperation with the DSWD- Regional Office and NFA-Binalonan Pangasinan launched "Tindahan Natin" outlets in the municipality. As shown in the pictures, Hon. Mayor Nonato S. Abrenica cutting the ribbon while Mr. Ronald Gabriel DSWD Project Evaluation Officer, Mrs. Juliet B. Orias, Sr. Grains Operations Officer of MFA, MSDWO Lilibeth M. Abrenica and Brgy. Captains Mamerto Bulatao(Tombod), Efren Basconcillo(San Blas), Rodolfo Mingarine(Piaz) and B/Kgd Lope Manangan(Unzad) look on. The launching was held at Brgy. Tombod last July 4, 2008. Four (4) barangays will operate one each Tindahan Natin. The operators are: Maricel Valdez(Unzad;, Marcela Obedoza, (Piaz); Tessie Aguado (Tombod); and Herminia Ting(San Blas). In each Tindahan Natin outlet, 250 low income families can avail the P18.25/kilo rice. The 4 barangay conniels have identified the names of the beneficiaries. P20,000 loan from DSWD (in form of rice) was granted to each Tindahan Natin operators, payable in one year without any interest.
