Three student athletes of Don Ramon E. Costales Memorial National High School made a big splash during the Palarong Pambansa with the theme “2017 Palarong Pambansa: Converges Youth Power, Builds Sustainable Future” on April 23-29, 2017 held at the City of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique. The winners were Danilo Pastoral who vanquished his opponent from Region 10 and claimed as the Gold Medalist in Extralight Weight Division in Arnis Boys Category. Andre Bill Bautista, Silver medalist ended a good fight to his opponent from NCR in Feather Weight Division while Franz Cedrick Madriaga also did a good fight to his opponent from Refion IV-A Clalabarzon and won as Silver Medalist in Pin Weight Division. These athletes are active members of Panduyucan Arnisador Society. The student athletes were accompanied by their coach, Lovely Grace Collado, a former student athlete from DRECMNHS and also a member of Panduyucan Arnisador Society –these two organizations were respectively supported by the head of our town, Mayor Nonato S. Abrenica not only in financial aspects but he also inspires our athletes.
