Barangay Night was held at the Villasis Auditorium on January 17, 2017 8PM. As a part of the celebration the leaders of the Province of Pangasinan and the Municipality of Villasis gave their inspiring and encouraging messages to the constituents.
During the speech of Mayor Nato, he discussed some of the present projects of the current administration- the Villasis Gymnasium which is now being used for different events, the newly-implemented Electronic Business Permit and Licensing System which shortens the time of issuing business permits, the full implementation of the waste segregation scheme and the closure of the dump site in Brgy. Capulaan. And also the ongoing construction of the resort in Brgy., Unzad.
The guest speaker for the event, Governor Amado “Pogi” Espino III, mentioned that he will conduct a visit on the barangays of Pangasinan for the next two weeks to check on the proposed projects.
The crowd went energetic and full of enthusiasm as Former Vice Mayor Roderick Mina announced the winners for the Cleanest, Greenest and Safest Barangay (Masagana 2016) competition. The cash prizes will be allocated for the different projects of the barangay in line with cleanliness and order.
For the Category 1, Poblacion Zone grand slammed the as they received the First place for the fifth time. Brgy. Lapaz got the third places, Brgy. Tombod got the second place.
For the Category 2, Brgy. Capulaan got the first place, Brgy. Barangobong got the second place and Brgy. Lipay as the third-placer.
There is also an award for the “biggest delegation”. And Brgy. Puelay received the award with one hundred ninety-three (193) delegates.
