Villasis Municipal Library launched a Book Drive Activity on October 10, 2017. This worthwhile activity aims to raise books and other reading materials from generous donors to help promote reading especially among children. The kickoff of said activity was attended by students of Feliz Academy, Inc. headed by Mr. Vladmir Mohammad Meriales, School Director, who has been very supportive of the endeavors of the library.Before the turning over of reading materials, they rendered various musical presentations which the students of Villasis I Central School Sped Center enjoyed and loved watching.
Councilor Judith Morden also graced the program by giving a short but inspiring message about her experience being a book lover since 5 years old. “I used to go in our library (Mangaldan Municipal Library) to read books. Until such time, the Librarian gave me a Library Card for me to be able to take home books. I remember, napalo pa akongTataykokasinakitanyana love storyyungbinabasakonglibro. There are many nice and beautiful places I found from the books I read. Now, I am able to visit these places. Reading develops your imagination. It enriches your knowledge,” said Councilor Judith.
Likewise,Mr. Vladimir Mohammad Meriales also shared a very nice message and writings of Baha’u’llah. “Everybody should develop enthusiasm and courage. That in everything we, we do it with joy. Being courageous, paggawangisangbagaynasatinginmohindimokayanggawinperomagagawa mo.” These are some of the lines from his message that everybody must possess.
MJ Racadio, blogger & publicist, also came to donate books he collected from Mr. June Hebrew, Business Communication Professor of New Era University. The materials given were mostly reference books for high school and college students.
