As part of the celebration of the 48th National Disability Rights Week with the theme, “Rights First, Legislation Forward—Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development,” the Local Government Unit of Villasis provided financial assistance to 100 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) who are currently enrolled in school.
The assistance was given through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) to help cover the transportation expenses of the student-beneficiaries in traveling to and from school.
Mayor Dita Abrenica emphasized the importance of ensuring that every Villasinian, regardless of ability, has access to opportunities that will help them succeed.
“Sa Villasis, walang maiiwan,” Mayor Abrenica said, underscoring the local government's commitment to inclusive governance and equal opportunities for all.
