MAYOR’S CUP 2018 VICTORY BALL

Victory Ball for this year’s Mayor’s Cup for the Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament was held at the Public Auditorium on May 22, 2018. Mayor’s Cup started last April 11.

Mayor Nato, Liga President Romeo S. Abrenica, Coun. Richie Cacapit and Coun. Felix Ferdinand Sison attended the event. During the event, Mayor Nato mentioned in his speech the improvement of Villasis Sports Center- new basketball flooring made of PVC with polyurethane coating and double cell foam, new fiber glass board, new shot clock and new sound system which he promised last year. He also mentioned the ongoing Master Development Plan for the Villasis Resort cum Evacuation Center, wherein he plans to put up a Recreational and Sport Facilities and Amusement Park.

Team San Blas, the “Overall Champion” for this conference received a P30,000 cash and trophy; Puelay, First Runner-up; Zone I, Second Runner-up and Caramutan, Third Runner-Up. All received trophies and cash prizes.

There are also Champions for each category; Champion For Category A is Puelay and San Blas for the Category B.

Mythical Ten; Arvy Lagleva (#10, Caramutan), Chris Gumangan (#4, San Blas), Jayson Olpindo (#24, Zone I), Marc Ramat (#11, Puelay), Gian Olpindo (#18, Zone I), Vincent Ramos (#14, Caramutan), Meljhun Llanes (#17, San Blas), Jonathan Motea (#7, Puelay), Cheney Gallang (#13, Amamperez), Mel Kenneth Conde (#7, Zone III).

Mythical Five; Jasper Regpala (#7, San Blas), John Mark Olivar (#8, San Blas), John Basconcillo (#16, Puelay), Mark Joseph Cariño (#16, Puelay) and Jefferson Raguindin (#4, Puelay).

Out of 300 players, John Paul Basconcillo of San Blas is the “Conference Most Valuable Player”, he was chosen not only because of his skills but also because of his character.

This year’s “Finals Most Valuable Player” is Jasper Kim Regpala of San Blas.

“Best Coach” award was given to Jerry Sibayan from San Blas.

Brgy. San Blas also bagged the “Most Attended Barangay” award for having 85 attendants for the event.
