Villasis formally started this year’s Mayor’s Cup for the Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament last April 11, 2018, with a parade in front of the Municipal Hall Building and business central district to the newly-renovated Villasis Sports Center/Gymnasium with Don Ramon E. Costales Memorial National High School Drum and Bugle Corps assisting.
The newly-refurbished Sports Center which includes the new basketball flooring made of PVC with polyurethane coating and double cell foam, new fiber glass board and new shot clock makes the tournament more exciting. This was promise by the Mayor last year.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor Nato and the Sangguniang Bayan Officials, Barangay Officials, families and supporters of various teams and players.
The search for “Miss Mayor’s Cup” was also held, wherein candidate from Poblacion Zone I, Miss Kyrie Shane Aragon, brought home the title, followed by Miss Bacag, Nicole Kate Tejada and Miss Amamperez, Gracielle Mae Liwanag. Team Unzad also won this year’s “Best in Uniform” award.
