Villasis Municipal Library (VML) was chosen as beneficiary of the Thin Client Project of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). VML will receive an equipment package containing One (1) unit Thin Client Host, Four (4) units Thin Clients, Five (5) units Headphone with Microphone, One (1) unit Uninterruptible Power Supply, One (1) unit 16-port Ethernet Switch, One (1) unit Router, One (1) unit Printer, Ethernet Cables with end-to-end RJ45 Connectors.
The Thin Client Technology is a project of the Department of Information and Communications Technology through the Tech4ED Centers under its eFilipino-Technology for Economic Development.
A Memorandum of Agreement signing was held during the 12th Knowledge Exchange Conference of the DICT at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City on September 15, 2017 attended by Tech4ED Project Director, Governors, Mayors, Cluster Directors and Librarians among others.
VML has been conducting digital literacy program since it started its operation in July 2016. In more than one year after the installation of the center, it has served Basic Computer Literacy & Skills Training to elementary and high school students, Child Development Workers, Barangay Secretaries and Treasurers, Senior Citizens, Municipal Employees and Barangay Health Workers. With these additional computer equipment which will be added to the center, more clients from various sectors of the community will be educated as Villasis Municipal Library Tech4ED Center will continue its programs towards solving digital divide among its patrons.
