                Villasis Municipal Library Tech4ED Center was awarded Outstanding Tech4ED Center under the Emerging Tech4ED Center Category during the National Tech4ED Awards 2018 on November 15, 2018 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, Davao City.

 The recognition is given to centers for their exemplary performance and contribution to the growth and advancement of the community and the Filipino people through the innovative and highly effective utilization of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Envisioned to give beneficiaries the needed recognition for their efforts as a valuable knowledge center in their area, the award seeks to recognize the best and finest Tech4ED Centers.

                 The winners were determined by the following criteria: Socio-economic impact of the Tech4ED Center(35%) - refers to the felt changes in the lives of community members as a result of Tech4ED Center use; Innovativeness (30%) - refers to the ability of the Tech4ED Center to successfully introduce pioneering products and services targeting the needs of the community; Productivity (20%) - refers to the continuous improvements in the Tech4ED Center outputs of the Tech4ED Center over the last two years; Partnerships and Networking (15%) - refers to the ability of the Tech4ED Center to network and forge partnerships and mobilize resources to sustain Tech4ED Center operations.

            Among the 2336 operating centers nationwide, six shone bright. Three entries for the Outstanding Centers, operational Tech4ED Centers that are in existence for over 2 years and Emerging Center Category for 2 years and below where Villasis Municipal Library Tech4ED Center fall. Winners were revealed during the awarding ceremonies by playing the Audio-Video presentation submitted by all the finalists.  These are the list of winners:

For their excellence and innovative approach, three e-centers bagged the distinction of Outstanding Tech4Ed centers:

  • Carmona Tech4Ed Center – Cavite
  • Nolitc Tech4Ed Center – Negros Occidental
  • Tayabas Tech4Ed Center – Quezon

Three newly-operated e-centers which displayed promising start in their community were also cited as Emerging Tech4Ed Centers:

  • Urdaneta City Library Tech4Ed Center – Pangasinan
  • Villasis Municipal Library Tech4Ed Center – Pangasinan
  • Lamitan City Tech4Ed Center – Basilan

 Villasis Municipal Library Tech4ED Center is entitled with one (1) Computer Set for being a winner of the said award.
