Mrs. Merly Zambrano, LPT, RL, MLIS, Municipal Librarian of the Local Government Unit of Villasis, was conferred the 2025 Outstanding Public Librarian Award by the Association of Librarians in Public Sector, Inc. (ALPS) during the 7th ALPS National Convention held on October 10, 2025, at Novotel Hotel, Quezon City.

This national recognition is awarded to a public librarian who has shown exemplary dedication to public service, outstanding professional practice, and significant contributions to library development. Mrs. Zambrano has consistently demonstrated innovation in expanding access to information, promoting literacy, and strengthening the role of libraries in community development.
Both Mrs. Zambrano and the Villasis Municipal Library are multi-awarded, having previously received various recognitions for excellence in public service, community literacy programs, and library management. Under her leadership, the Municipal Library has continued to evolve as an inclusive, knowledge-centered institution that serves students, researchers, and the wider Villasis community.
